I’m a freelance writer, blogger and essayist. I’m interested  in the Why and How of people, culture, science and social trends. My intersection of interests brings me to this:

We lean towards our best self when we seek answers that stir questions,  when we accept infinite (and extraordinary) possibility, when we sense Other as inextricably part of us.

Meaningful humanity exists only when we remember our invisible web with the universe and each other. Only then do we break our illusion of separateness, only then do we awaken our forgotten self pulsing her primordial heartbeat in time with forever.

~ Laura

Background:

I graduated with a B.S. in psychology and minor in marketing from Rollins College and University of Florida.  I have a certificate of completion in Stress-related disorders – Institute for Brain Potential.   My continuing education includes:

Theory & Practice of Creative Writing

A Writer’s Guide to Descriptive Settings

Focus on Writing the Personal Essay

Post college I worked for ten years in marketing and advertising. I’m married with one child and one ridiculously spoiled pug who was born on Christmas day and whose breed originates as a companion to Buddhist monks.  That my dog seems to blend Eastern and Western origins without much of a bark suggests humans probably can find overlap too.

There is nothing noble in being superior to some other person.True nobility comes from being superior to your previous self ~ Hindu Proverb
