It’s funny, not ha-ha funny, ironic, that every year I hear the same introduction from mothers about how they feel about summer vacation. Then by the end of the summer, their story and attitude changes.
Not me, I stick with my view on what the end of the school year means to me, just like I have with everything that relates to motherhood, the raw, bittersweet and sometimes really sappy – but always truthful.
Take childbirth for instance, to me it’s ugly, horribly painful, unnecessarily dramatic (why so much drama? isn’t parenting enough?) wet and messy, please, no beauty there AT ALL. But the baby? Genuinely gorgeous, jaw dropping and mind-blowing.
